The advice

A numbing cream is applied to the spots 30–60 minutes before, per our instructions, making the scraping almost painless.
The procedure is quick: each bump is scraped with a small instrument; a child's crying is usually fear, not pain — bring their favourite toy and we will keep the session short and gentle.
Afterwards: small red points with very minor bleeding; apply Vaseline and a plaster on the larger ones.
Normal bathing from the next day, with pat-drying.
Small scabs heal within 5–10 days; stop the child scratching them — they usually heal without scars (temporary light or dark marks can fade over months).
New bumps that were seeded before the session may appear and need a follow-up visit — this is expected and does not mean the treatment failed.
During the treatment period: a separate towel for the child and no shared baths; school is fine from the next day.
