The advice

A biopsy takes a small skin sample under local anaesthesia to reach a precise diagnosis — a simple procedure of 10–15 minutes.
The anaesthetic injection stings for seconds, then the site is fully numb; you will feel no pain while the sample is taken.
Wound care: wash gently daily with water and mild soap, apply Vaseline and cover with a plaster — no alcohol or peroxide; showering is fine without soaking the wound.
If stitches were placed: keep the removal date (face 5–7 days, body 10–14 days), and avoid stretching the area and hard exercise until removal.
Mild soreness needs only paracetamol; for bleeding, press with gauze for a full 15 minutes — if it does not stop, call us.
A small scar usually remains and improves with time: apply sunscreen on it after healing.
The pathology result usually takes 1–3 weeks and we will book a follow-up to discuss it — never hesitate to ask about it.
