The advice

The site is numbed with a local injection (a sting and burn for seconds), then the wart is cauterized and scraped off — no pain during the procedure itself.
Numbness wears off in one to two hours; pain afterwards is mild and paracetamol is enough.
A small superficial wound results: wash gently daily with water and mild soap, apply Vaseline and cover with a plaster until healed — no alcohol, peroxide or iodine.
A crust forms within days and falls in 1–2 weeks (longer on legs and feet); do not pick it.
Avoid soaking the wound (pool, tub) until healed; normal showers are fine.
The new skin stays pink for weeks: apply sunscreen on it to prevent darkening.
A wart can occasionally regrow at the edges or need a second session — come back if new growth appears.
